Fort Canoe Kayak Club is a non-for-profit group of people who enjoy paddling canoe and kayak competitively and for recreation. Our competitive programs participate in the sport of sprint canoe kayak. As a member of CanoeKyakBC (PSO) and CanoeKayakCanada (NSO), our club offers a variety of ways to get involved in our sport. Over the last 20 years we have been supporting motivated athletes to reach their goal, and have a number of national and international champions who call our club home.
In addition to our strong competitive programs, we also offer programs for all skill levels and age 8 to 80. (Until Mario turns 81, then the age is level is 81).
We are always welcoming new paddlers, even with no experience. Our certified and accomplished coaching staff will help you with whatever you need!
Our club culture is positive and encouraging. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive atmosphere that goes all the way from the board of directors, the coaches and to the athletes. Whether you have your eyes set on the Olympics or leisurely exploring the Bedford channel, we strive to build a community where everyone feels welcome regardless their goals!
Did you know?
Fort Canoe Kayak Club is a division of the Fort Langley Canoe Club (FLCC)?
The other divisions paddle using:
Voyageur canoes: used to re-enact the historic arrival of people to Fort Langley during the “Brigade Days” every summer, as well as for numerous other community events and have regular voyageur canoe recreational paddles throughout the year.
Dragonboats: these active teams compete in regattas regionally, nationally and internationally.
Outrigger canoes: for our members to use and we are looking forward to the development of that portion of the club!
