Where We Paddle

The Fort Canoe and Kayak Club is based at the Paddlesport Dock at the Langley Paddling Centre on Billy Brown Road, Fort Langley, down river (west) of the Jacob Haldi Bridge where Glover Road crosses the Bedford Channel. Most of our time is spent on the picturesque Bedford channel, a sheltered waterway separated from the Fraser River by Macmillan and Brae islands. The dock is down river (west) of the Jacob Haldi Bridge where Glover Road crosses the Bedford Channel. Off street parking is available near the Fort Pub (west of the bridge) and in Marina Park (east of the bridge).

Our spring programs generally run from the Salmon River Dock.

When the waters on the Bedford Channel are running too fast or too high, we move our boats to the Salmon River and paddle from the Salmon River Dock. You can find a map of where the Salmon River Dock is here: Fort Canoe and Kayak Club Salmon River Dock. The dock is about a three minute walk down a small section of the Fort-to-Fort trail. The trailhead is at 22866 Billy Brown Road, fairly close to where it meets 96th Ave. Most participants park at the trailhead on Billy Brown Road and walk in from there.

When our Sprint programs can't run out of the boathouse dock due to freshet, they run out of Nathan Creek in Glen Valley.
