This regatta should be tons of fun!
...but it will be a bit different from what you're used to (e.g., having to wear face masks the whole time)...unless you've never been to a regatta and then it will all just be new.
What do I have to do ahead?

Coach and contacts?
Alex Brent (604-854-4989) will be your coach for the day. Matt Smith will be assistant coach. You can also phone/text Sandra with questions (778-808-4839).
-HP athletes will load boats on to our trailer at Friday practice (along with paddles, two tents, pfds, knee blocks, boat numbers, racing singlets, bin with boat and hand sanitizer, and bin with pens and tools).
-boat unloading will occur at Monday practice
-Trevor will drive boats to practice and Gord has offered to bring the boats home Sunday.
Where is the regatta?

-Parents watch from a viewing area (bring binoculars)
-Athletes hang out in athlete area
-Depending on your age and level, you will attend Sat and/or Sun (see below).
-Saturday athletes arrive at Whonnock Lake at 7:30am (boat unloading and sign in)
-Sunday athletes arrive at 7:30am (or an hour before your first race)
-Races are scheduled until 5:30pm. Check with your coach and your schedule on race day if you want/need to leave early
What to bring?
-racing singlet (if you have one...we'll bring extras)
-snacks and lunch ...no shared food this time :(
-a beach chair
-a couple changes of clothes
-a warm hoodie
-life jacket (if you have one)
...and your FCKC spirit ;)
Regatta Rules (Basics)?
1) Check in
---Athletes check in at the Gazebo
---Volunteers check in at the Hall
---Parents don't need to check in
2) Wash/Sanitize your hands
3) Go to your designated area
4) When not racing, wear masks if you can't maintain distance
5) Sanitize equipment between uses
6) Keep your area sanitized (tables and stuff)
7) If you get sick and have to leave, tell CKBC
8) Parents stay on the beach, athletes stay in their area, you can meet each other at the gazebo or in the parking lot. -See event map HERE
9) Athletes can't go to parent beach area and Parents can't go to athlete area
